The Procedure for Veneers
First, our dentist will lightly buff your tooth so the veneer can lay flat on its surface and look natural. Then, the dentist will take an impression of your tooth and send it to the dental lab to create your veneers. The dentist will place a temporary veneer on your tooth while your permanent one is being made. When your permanent veneer is ready, you will return for the final step: bonding it to the front of your tooth using a special cement.
The process can take a few weeks from start to finish. Once your veneers are in place, you can care for them as you would your natural teeth by brushing twice daily and flossing once daily. You can still eat any foods you like but you should avoid biting your nails or using your teeth to open packages.
The Benefits of Veneers
There are many reasons patients choose to get veneers. They’re an excellent way to improve the appearance of your smile and hide teeth that are discolored, chipped, cracked, or misaligned. Porcelain veneers are also stain-resistant and require no special care other than regular brushing and flossing.
The most crucial benefit of veneers is how quickly and easily they can transform your smile. Unlike more extensive dental treatments such as braces, which take up to two years, veneers can be applied quickly and dramatically enhance the look of your smile.
Veneers can be used to reshape the teeth and eliminate minor imperfections such as small chips, cracks, or white spots on the enamel.
